It’s easy to start planning your career as a skin therapist. Here’s the quick list of the requirements needed to complete the application process. We encourage you to tour the academy, join a class in session and have a skin treatment to know if Dermalogica Academy might be right for you. New York state requires you:

  • be at least 17 years of age
  • submit a high school diploma, GED certificate or college transcript
  • show verifiable United States citizenship or residency documentation
  • complete the application and submit the registration fee
  • have a preliminary conversation with a Dermalogica Academy admissions coach

 

 
Dermalogica Academy is eligible to offer Federal Student Aid to those who qualify for grants and loans. Your first step is to go to www.studentaid.ed.gov to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Enter school code 042375. To be eligible for student aid, you must:

  • demonstrate financial need
  • be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
  • have a valid Social Security number (with the exception of students from the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia or the Republic of Palau)
  • be registered with Selective Service, if you’re a male (you must register between the ages of 18 and 25)
  • be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program
  • be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for Direct Loan Program funds
  • maintain satisfactory academic progress in college or career school
  • sign statements on the FAFSA that:
    • you are not in default on a federal student loan and do not owe money on a federal student grant
    • you will use federal student aid only for educational purposes
  • show you’re qualified to obtain a college or career school education by:
    • having a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate or
    • completing a high school education in a homeschool setting approved under state law
